Judas Priest new album details....

BLABBERMOUTH.NET can be the first to report that JUDAS PRIEST have set "Angel of Retribution" as the title of their brand-new album, due on February 1, 2005 (January 31, 2005 internationally) via Sony/Epic Records. Songs slated to appear on the CD include "Judas Rising", "Deal with the Devil", "Revolution", "Worth Fighting For" and "Hellrider". The first single from the album is expected to be "Revolution", although this could change between now and the song's projected radio impact date.

According to a BLABBERMOUTH.NET source who has heard the aforementioned tracks, "This album is unmistakably JUDAS PRIEST...no other band sounds quite like them. The songs we've heard pay tribute to classic PRIEST albums of years gone by, yet have a fully modern sound as well. This is pure metal and it sounds huge."

As previously reported, the initial shipment of the CD will include a bonus DVD filmed during the band's June shows in Barcelona and Valencia, Spain. A European tour in support of the album will kick off in late February.

would love to hear a classic priest album. but i have no real hope.
the last two albums, especially "demolition", were terrible, and it was not the fault of the ripper. in my eyes, glenn tipton is responsible for this modern shit.
he should not listen to his son, but to those legions of fans who want to have a classic like "defenders.." or "painkiller". today, priest are known for their classics
and not for their trend-shit.
and i 've seen some bootleg-footage from their last tour, halford was awful.
even all the sound effects couldn't help...sad...
but the song titles sound promising and i'm so curious...let's hope they will not
disappoint us.

I have the feeling that this album will be fucking killer! The main reason I figger the Ripper-era Priest was such a disgrace is that the band became incapable of writing decent melodies without Thee Mighty Leatherman. F'rinstance, compare "Resurrection" to any non-Halfordized material. and it becomes very clear--- Rob knew how to put the finishing touches on KK/Glen's riffs.

Rob may be gay, but thee new album definitely will not be!

Gay people write some of the best melodies... Barry Manilow, Elton John/Bernie Taupin, Chris La Tray... the list goes on.

taken from www.judas-priest.com fansite:

To follow up on yesterday's announcement, a good friend of mine attended a recent press briefing and listening session in New York for "Angel of Retribution." Here's what he had to say:

“Definitely reminiscent of ‘70s and ‘80s Priest. "Hellrider" has the aggression of "Leather Rebel" with lead breaks that recall "Nightcrawler". "Revolution" is rather bluesy (even has a bass intro!).”
