Filthy Jim / Long Dong Silver - Split 7” (Scarey Records)

Here's Scarey Records statement that the Prairieland can rock. Two bands, that are, given the culture there, probably not Kansas' favorite sons, but a definite boon for all down and dirty punk filth sleaze-rockers from that State. Kind of like partying at a truck stop with a bus load of hookers and a gang of bikers (what did ya expect from bands that name themselves after used condoms and a porn star known for tying his elephant cock in a knot).
Filthy Jim offer up their filthy, hopped-up tribute to addiction "Tied to the Needle" and lust statement "Teenage Witch". The 70's roots definitely show through on the latter, though rarely was anything this energetic and dirty back then....a really well written song.
Long Dong Silver are just a tad cleaner in sound (don't let that mislead you, if either of these bands moved in next door to you, your female kin would all come down with syphilis). With "Junkie Cinderella" and "Spank My Ass" they're treading similar lyrical territory.
Filthy Jim wins by 1 length.
