I'll start it off with Charlie Benante(heart and soul of the band along with Scott) and Tom Hunting (killer performance on Tempo of the Damned).

I don't guess 'Everyone' would count as a valid answer?
Ok then...Dave Lombardo of Slayer, and Sean Killian of Vio-lence. Sean was Tom Huntings (Exodus) fill in drummer on the first (arena) leg of the Fabulous Disastour.

That was Perry Strickland from Violence who filled in on that Headbanger's Ball Tour. I'd have to go with Away from Voivod.

It be easier to ask "Which drummers are not better that Lars" that would it much more exciting. Too many thrash drummers better that Lars "show me the money or get the f**k outa my face" Ulrich. Sorry , I have met the man and he is no longer about the metal or even music. It's the all mighty dollar for him. Poser!

well, you gotta remember that if it wasn't for Lars playing like that(when he did) to start with in 81-82
Tis a good point. He did inspire people to go faster than Motorhead - at the time "Fight Fire with Fire" was the fastest double kick drumming going.
But he is a twat and he could never keep a beat.
And sorry Rich - Abbaddon was sloppy as fuck. I love Venom and even his drumming but when it came to timekeeping he wasn't exactly Accurist was he?

When I saw Venom in '86 he was quick drunk, spitting ice cubes and wasn't exactly Dave Lombardo.

our drummer, Jeff St. Louis from DBC (Dead Brain Cells) the craziest drummer I ever played with
That's cool you guys are showing up here, Eddie. I'm still a fan of DBC. Did you guys ever do any shows with Dyoxen?
How about the dude from Indestroy that played on the Senseless Theories EP and Billy Giddings from Tension.

Mr. Obscure = Greg Fee
No way, dude. I had to bow out of a conversation with Steve Battleburns and Mike Ballue a few years ago at SHOD in Mesa. They went to another sub-level that totally lost me. Something about obscure 7" releases and other shit.
John Shafer (Hexx)
Michael Rosenthal (Sacrifice (Can))
Gar Samuelson (Megadeth)
Tad Leger (Toxik)
Marquis Marky (Coroner)
Lee Reynolds (Morbid Saint)
Colin Mattson (Forced Entry)
Sean Reinert (Cynic, Death)
Bobby Jarzombek (Juggernaut, Riot)
Jon Allen (Sadus)
Brett Hern/Mike Miner (Blind Illusion)
Jorg Michael (Mekong Delta)
John Slattery (Cyclone Temple)
Scott Schafer (Znowhite)
Dan Beehler (Exciter)

Are Morbid Saint any good ? I saw a new ex-promo cassette for sale at a dicscount/second hand record shop a few years back ,but didn't end up getting it .
Uhhh I think that's Tad from Toxik.
How did Gar Samuelson die?

Yes indeed. Quality thrash that wa spassed over like so many good bands. Grab that tape if it's still there.

MORBID SAINT - Spectrum Of Death (1989)
1. Lock Up Your Children 2. Burned At The Stake 3. Assassin 4. Damien 5. Crying For Death 6. Spectrum Of Death 7. Scars 8. Beyond The Gates Of Hell
This album is quite a rare treat indeed. With some truly vicious vocals and the nastiest riffs, Morbid Saint's Spectrum Of Death must be one of the more ferocious old thrash albums you can find. The vocalist sounds positively feral and couldn't better fit the band's style. The production could be a lot better, though, but that cannot be helped. It's not so bad as to actually distract you from the music, anyway. As a whole this album is very consistent and almost every track has the same level of intensity from start to end, the most explosive tracks like Lock Up Your Children, Damien and Crying For Death being just slightly more distinctive from the rest. With better production values and some actual distribution in the first place Spectrum Of Death could have become better known also outside the groups of the most dedicated collectors, now one actually needs to really search for it. Definitely worth the effort, I should add.

You are correct Mr. Fee and I have corrected my error. Your young braincells are obviously working better than my old ones.
Liver failure, if I remember right.

Gene Hoglan is the fastest thrash drummer I ever witnessed live, he played with Death at the time.
