Potential Threat S.F. - Demo 2002 (Self-Release)
By Michael Ballue (Mike@hellridemusic.com)

This band has a long history in the Bay Area dating back to the glory days of thrash and you can definitely hear that heritage on this five track demo from last year. The more mid paced thrash of the late 80's mixed with some Machine Head 1st LP crunch and wallop would be a good approximation of the sound. None of the tunes stands out as a particular favorite for me, but all are high quality. The rhythm section is thunderous, at times almost threatening to overpower the vocals and guitar. The vocals are sung/shouted and completely decipherable somewhere between a Chuck Billy and Hetfield roar. The guitar work is solid and impressive, but could have used a slight boost in the production. A good effort and judging by the promo pack sent with it, these guys are fully going for it this round, I'll be hoping they land a contract as I'd love to hear a full length with a fuller production.
