Well thank you John and Orodruin for asking for them in the first place. It definately opened a new door for fans of Iron Man that hadn't gotten to see them yet, as well as a chance for the band to play in a city that they had yet to play.

Al's guitar sounded amazing, as I expected!

One interesting thing I noticed though, was that he plays a lot with the E string tuned to C# (as opposed to drop D) - never seen anyone else do that.

I'm sorry we forgot your first name but i got a hold of AL for you and here is what he wanted me to tell you.

"This method came about when I was playing along with my Sabbath albums and had to match the tuning to be able to follow each song note for note. There are three Iron Man tunings at this time, D,C# and B. A DVD is being developed now to demo the sound and tunings of Iron Man.

Peace, AL"

hey, thanks for asking for me! Funny, as I was watching Iron Man, I sorta guessed that it might've come about from Al playing along with Sabbath long ago, and not knowing exactly how they tuned, then doing his own take on it.

Iron Man floored me on Saturday! The on stage chemistry has really developed in the two years since Doom or be Doomed. No doubt bolstered by the great new album, their set was relentless and pounding. Al sounded incredible (the Sunn amp is perfect for his tone), the rhythm section was locked in tight, and Joe's voice was great. Louis' VOID shirt was the icing on the cake (long live Bubba Dupree!).

It was also a great set because of Joe's stage presense; he was dynamic and animated, and not as offensive with his remarks as before. Not to slight anybody else, but besides Argus, Iron Man were the only band with a frontman. That fact alone made it actually FUN to watch the performance. And because the new album is so good, this was the first time seeing them that I didn't care if I heard the old classics or not.

I have to agree Iron Man was amazing. Al MOrris was heavy and of course his tone is in a class by it's self. Louis had amazing energy as usual. It is great to see them on the stage together.

I'm just not feeling that drunk hot mess of a singer. I mean drink if you want to drink. BUt know your limits. His antics turn me off. I don't dig watching a singer pick their nose while standing next to Al Morris.

Ha ha so funny. 6 shots. He should be so proud. Believe me that singer should try to drink less. Watching a joker sing on his back cause he is too drunk to stand was way cool.

I have to admit her comments are kind of funny. Yeah, maybe Joe should tone down the drinking before the show. Save the major partying for after their set.:hat:
Of course it would help if so many of you didn't offer to buy him so many shots before the gig.
It's those shots that do him in.:laugh2:

Yeah you're right. I'm not downing the act all together. I get it. He's trying to be funny and I'm not laughing. He's too drunk to be funny. It's almost sad. And on a serious note I know what I heard and saw. I was there. I saw it first hand. I have the CD and I find it hard to believe that it's the same guy. Joe needs to tighten up and have some respect for being blessed with the opportunity to play with the GREAT AL MORRIS.

HA...fiesty little bitch isn't she !?!? Doesn't bother me in the least one's opinions , If I wan't to take a picture with al with my finger in my nose (which she took) be lucky the remnants didn't end up on her ! LOL...though I know who DOOM KITTY IS , and all that I'd ask of her is if things bother you that I do , might as well bring them up to my attention addressed to me in person , rather than instead of a fake persona act everything I do is coolwhen you're around my being....She could also be 100% correct in her opinions , finding Drug addicts more attractive than drunks...Just be more up front sweetheart with your opinions , and less convictional when your anonymous . Knowing your past , seems we both live in glass houses with our vices ! Why start throwing stones...for you're the same as me !:fagfight:

Who I am isn't important. I'm not the lead singer of Iron Man. Stop being defensive and sing the way you did on the CD. I didn't need to take a picture of you picking your nose - You did it on stage.

That's cool you want to patronize me. Keep making a drunk fool of yourself. I hope Al wakes up and gets rid of you. I know people who love Al that won't come see him play because you make them sick. Do the band a favor and don't drink before you play to the point that you do. You sound great on the CD. You can't sing when you're that drunk, believe me.

O.k. i think i've heard enough now. When you first started this little rant of yours i thought it was funny and i thought Joe deserved a little bit of a kick in the ass. So AL & myself gave him one to grown on, but now i think your taking this a little to far. First of all i also know who you are and while i may not know you on a personal level, i know enough about you that i think you have little room to talk. And your right your not the singer in Iron Man. JOE DONNELLY is! And why would Al after searching all of his life, for this very type of lyrist/vocalist want to get rid of him, after helping Al just make the best damn Iron Man release ever!!!
Why? Because one fan who happens to have "a bug up her ass" thinks so?
Sorry bout your luck!

And what, you're tryin' to tell me that Joe Donnelly is the first musician you've seen drunk or fucked up on stage!??
Funny i don't remember you writing comments like these after seeing a few of your "Friends" bearly able to make it to the stage, let alone sober enough to even come on and play.

Listen here fuckface..... I am entitled to my opinion. You weren't even there. You posted that you couldn't make it. I was. Don't make me pull the audio and embarrass that fat ass. Oh, and all the bullshit you said about my friends is just stupid. I don't know you or that idiot Joe. You need to not try to defend what you didn't see. I didn't realize that I needed to ask you before I posted my thoughts and feelings about the show I saw. Do you really want to keep running your fuckin' mouth???

I think it is you that is "running their mouth".
I don't think Joe would be embarrassed. So what, maybe it wasn't his best night. I didn't need to be there to know, i got plenty of reviews from other fans, including the band members themsleves, and not all were as bad as yours or as condesending.
You say you don't know me or Joe, but i've stood right next you at various festival concerts in Maryland. What's the matter, to "Fucked up" to remember?
As i stated previously we thought your comments were amusing and had some validity to them, but when you made this statement; "I hope Al wakes up and gets rid of you. I know people who love Al that won't come see him play because you make them sick."
That took things to a whole new level.
Sounds like a personal problem to me.
Sorry as Iron Man and Al Morris' personal Manager, i have every right to defend Al and the indivdual members of the band against such ridiculous comments.
If you have some constructive criticism, with out such personal attacks, we're all ears.
Otherwise piss off!:flipoff:

LOL....gotta love it ! Told you she's a fiesty little bitch hu ? I can't believe just because we had a JIM MORRISON conversation and that I said I loathed the DOORS and him , I'd get this kinda reation out of her...Amazing . Anyway , if she wants to hate/bash me...let her ! There's not a musician in the world (past or present) that was loved by all , and I am no different . In a strange way , its amusing to me someone feels that strongly negative towards me . If she wants to hate me ,so be it...At least she sounds comical when she does . Very entertaining....Guess that sharp feather really DID cut deep those wounds ! LOL

Too quote the great Joe D. "Why is every great indulgence
- Considered evil taboos - Restricting all of man's pleasures , a souls redemption he shall loose"

Man u really hate Joe? I love all of Al's Force Material and his prior I.M. albums -- but I Have Returned is no doubt the Best material ever released by Al.... The bass and drums are better - and YES the VOCALS are 10 times better than before (no disrespect to Dan or Rob) -- Also the lyrics are really good... I think Joe was really exciting on stage --- I was also piss drunk & I had a fucking great time...

Hey everyone, I was off this mighty website here for a few months due to various "life circumstances"....but now I'm back! And it feels better than ever to be back amongst my doom-ified brothers and sisters, let me tell you that! And I love you all, truly! To all those who doubt Joe Donnelly, I saw them at Johnny Brenda's in Philly on 1/31/2009, and I will maintain to this day that it's the best live show I've ever seen! No joke!! Listen, I played bass in a band that opened for various "legends" on the "sludge/doom/stoner rock" (or whatever you want to call it) circuit, and I will tell you personally and maintain and defend my stance as saying that the January 31st 2009 show @ Johnny Brenda's featuring Pale Divine, Stinking Lizaveta, Misstallica, and the almighty Iron Man is the best show I've ever seen!!! Bottom fucking line! Anyone who has a complaint about Joe...well, all I can say is that he is one of the coolest people I've ever met with an amazing sense of humor and a kindness and grace that is rare to find....not to mention that Al and Louis and Dex are total gentlemen as well, and very gracious!! I felt horrible that I had to miss Born Too Late II...but I didn't have a choice!! Just be glad that you got to see Iron Man and that they are still out there playing and providing us fans and passionate musicians and doom disciples with the opportunity to witness their greatness! So you should be humble and thankful!!! The utmost and all respect to Al, Joe, Louis, Dex and Michael!! Peace and Doom to those of you who are true believers!
