In the eternal debate over which record is better, Fun House or Raw Power, after listening to both quite a bit lately I need to go with Fun House. Still need to revisit the first record, but Fun House has just been rocking me in a way that I just don't get from Raw Power, though the latter is a classic slab of garagey rock in its own right.

I'm excited for the new record that is coming out in the next couple months. With Mike Watt on bass and Albini at the dials I have high hopes.

Well, I'm a relative newcomer to exploring their music myself. Always knew about them, always knew a couple songs, but over the last couple years I decided to dig a little deeper. As a guy who can appreciate a well-crafted tune regardless of genre, I think you might dig a lot of what they do.

Fun House is about their best... I place a lot of stock in Raw Power as well. The debut is good... just not at fully realized as Fun House. I do like the way the first two records unfold though. Some of the best shit is the weird and one off crap that you find in the bins marked 'Stooges' in your finer record shops.

I don't think they altered the world or anything. At the end of the day they are to proto-punk what Cirith Ungol is to heavy metal... a band that kids probably will not 'get'; stuff that will need time to soak in. Which is an ironic comparison when one reads the trite review that Ungol got from sleezegrinder - however I stand by it. The Stooges are fuckin rite rock.
