Album of the month III + Festival gigs!

OK, so IRON WILL won Sweden Rock Magazine's "Leader of the pack" in the current issue, crushing some pretty well-known bands... Check it out.

Grand Magus will be playing at 2 festivals on the 16th and 17th of august.

The Boston based Traditional Doom band “Planet Gemini” will be releasing the album Wicked as a free download via the bands webpage www.planetgemini.net on August 4th 2008.

“The time is just right for me to release this material that came from such a dark time in my life. This is by far the most evil material I have ever written and some of it chills me to the bone to listen to even now.”

Wicked consists of 11 songs and the tracklisting is as follows.

Loud From The South is complete!

Quick decision makers have already earned their first beers!
Eindhoven, July 16 2008- In the past week the last two names for the Loud From The South have been announced: Norther and Dark Tranquillity completed the lineup of 12 bands. All the more reason to get your tickets fast, because the Early Bird price of 45 euro is valid until Sunday July 20. And you don’t have to worry about the weather, the festival will be held in several halls inside the Klokgebouw.

Last week, extra partners Jagermeister and Last FM have been added. Last FM has created a special section for the festival on which the visitor can listen to all bands who play on Loud From The South. Jagermeister has committed to several international rock and metal events and has chosen Loud From The South as the perfect meeting point to introduce people to their drink and the world of Jagermeister. On an earlier stage Lords Of Metal, Aardschok, Rock Hard, Merchandise.nl and Royal3 have committed to Loud From The South.

With the support of these partners we can offer a special presale price; the early bird special of 45 euro (excl. service fees) is valid until Sunday July 20. So get your tickets through Ticketservice or the Rock Hard webshop or go to one of the Metal Zone stores. After July 20, tickets will be 55 euro (excl. servicefees), so those first beers on august 30th are easy to earn! And you don’t have to worry about the return trip. Dutch railways will have extra trains available from the Eindhoven Beukenlaan station (100 meters from the festival).
But you can also stay in Eindhoven and enjoy another festival on Sunday august 31st; The Dynamo Outdoor festival at the Dynamo venue. This free festival features Anathema, Mad Sin, Heidevolk, Born From Pain, The Rotted, No Turning Back, Mother Misery and Devilöck.

Archon, the New York-based psychedelic doom band featuring members of Agnosis and 12 Eyes, is preparing to release it's debut EP in July/August 2008. The EP features 2 tracks and is over 30 minutes of true cosmic doom. Vicky leaves, vocalist required!

After a period of uncertainty within the band, Vicky has left due to creative differences. This is nothing personal, it's just that between us we had different ideas as to how the band should progress: we wish her nothing but the best for the future! Our label, Miskatonic Foundation, has been 100% supportive with the decision & is waiting for us to find a replacement before releasing our recently recorded second album 'In Situ'. This is so that we can promote the recording accordingly. We can't thank Miskatonic... enough for their help & support in this issue. As such we are now looking for a new vocalist. The ideal candidate should have enthusiasm for the band as well as having a creative input & being free most weekends for rehearsals in the Croydon area. There are always gigs & recordings in the pipeline so obviously a degree of professionalism is imperative too. If you're interested or know someone that is then please get in contact!

Tuesday June 24th is the release date for the much anticipated new CD from the New York City Gods of Sludge, Negative Reaction. "Tales From The Insomniac" is a dark journey into the sludge scarred world of Sir Ken E. Bones and Company. Simply put, this is Pure Raw Emotion. Fans of CoC, Monster Magnet, eyehategod and Acid Bath will be drawn to this soon to be classic.
A video for lead off single "Wish To A Dream" is set to be shot in July and a fall tour with Maegashira is to follow.

WOOLY MAMMOTH rides again....

Iron Horse magazine is having an issue release party, so on June 14th you're going to want to be in DC, riding a motorcycle and ready to party like its 2008! Of course minivans are also welcome.

THE VENUE:
The Rock and Roll Hotel on H Street NE is well suited for such an event.
Downstairs is the concert hall and upstairs are various suites and bars with different themes in which to get to get your rock and/or roll on.

There will be free schwag, and other promos happening etc.
