Reviews    Roadsaw - Rawk n' Roll (Lunasound Recording)
by Chris Barnes

This is almost a different band than was on Roadsaw's last full-length, "Nationwide". Man, that was one unspectacular album. In the grand scheme of things there was almost nothing to separate it from the rest of the rawk pack.

The new Roadsaw disc Rawk n' Roll is a damn sight more muscular both musically and production wise. Vocalist Craig Riggs really shines here, sounding a bit like a throaty Robin Zander. In fact, I pick up more than one Cheap Trick-ian vibe here. Drummer Hari Harrison even looks like Bun E. Carlos! nah...haha...just kidding. Like Cheap Trick's sadly underrated Next Position Please, the 'Saw feature well crafted testosterone AC/DC-ish riffs and some killah melodies and choruses. Makes you want to sing along like you just got a fat paycheck, paid all the bills, and your looking at all your troubles in the rearview mirror.

If "Disconnected" and the AMAZING re-recording of the hard rock anthem...well, it SHOULD be an anthem anyway... "The Finger" don't get your rock rawks off, then we are speaking two different languages here, Tex. And another thing, why do bands put some of their most creative tracks at the tail end of the CD as a hidden track?! That's fucking retarded. I wish I knew the name of the hidden track, because it rules. And whoever is behind the Hammond, hats off to you.

This record is going to garner Roadsaw a ton of new fans, mark my words. A very nice totem in rock n' roll's long road...
