Dirty Rig have that elusive "That riff is SWEET!" factor going for it, the kinda magical alchemy that has listeners hitting "repeat" incessantly. I mean check out the stuff in "GTO" or "Hitch Hiker". Sweet Jesus, can those guys write a heavy song - full of muted chunky e-string delights; swinging pseudo-metal groove and... those riffs.... Blood, Sweat and Beer is not unlike listening to the last Black Label Society album, minus the commercial stuff and filler. Another thing that I like about Blood, Sweat and Beer - their label, The Music Cartel, is doing the right thing here. Instead of whining about people downloading the songs and not buying the CD, they're doing something about it. With the regular CD, you get a bonus DVD with the band doing three of their songs live - "Hitch Hiker", "Two", and "GTO". It's this kind of value-added, forward thinking that just might save the industry. If the people aren't buying, you have to give them a reason TO buy. Anyway,
I'm off topic here. Solid HEAVY hard rock release from the Long Island
dirt bag/riff wizards.
