Inwards has the visceral ability to fuel the stuff that the metal addict craves...the adrenaline surges and endorphin rushes that propel the normal, everyday metal fan into a kinetic ball of fist-pumping and head banging energy. The rhythms are precise and complex...the sonic equivalent of an Escher sketch. Vocalist Leif Jensen, instead of taking the guttural Death vox approach to the proceedings, alternates between barking and screaming the lyrics...I don't know what the guy is screaming about half the time, but to the listener, it sounds like he puts his entire being behind his delivery. That's good enough for me... I haven't been this happy about a thrash-based release since Testament's "The Gathering". Highly recommended. Whoa!
This is a combustible collection of Germanic death/thrash that should
be in the collections of any self-respecting fan of one or both genres.
I'd be hard pressed to name a release that has this combination of pure
rage and technical precision since the glory days of fellow Teutonics
Destruction or Kreator.
